Google+ has started to look into the mobile phone platform for its growth. Introducing the “Hangout on Air” feature for mobiles as well is a part of this efforts. It has brought more relevance to the term “Hangout” by expanding it to mobility. It is nothing but a twin to its mos popular desktop version.Users will now be able to video chat with other contacts from anywhere on their mobile phones. Whether you are traveling on the subway or roaming around in a mall, Google+ will now enable you to connect with other users on the fly and start a hangout session with them. You can even track their location using maps.
Posts you upload on Google+ will help you start a “Hangout” and for people not having access to a web cam application, they will have to key in a dial-code and then will be able to join the hangout session as normal. Social Media strategies will now rotate around creating optimized posts and ensuring the right time for having these sessions with users.. What’s more, one can even share live videos of the hangout on their YouTube profiles. The Hangout on Air functionality ensures that the live updates from the hangout are shared on the individual Google+ profiles of the participating users automatically.
Social media channels are mostly accessed on Android & iOS smart phones. Google will launch both the versions of this hangout feature so that users across platforms can video chat seamlessly. As for the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, users who upgrade to it, will only be able to access the “Hangout on Air” feature.
